Pack the things you'd need to rebuild yourself

The vault is for the files that define you. When in doubt, ask: if this vanished, could I still answer who I am? If the answer is no, it belongs here.

01Your identity documents — SOUL, SELF, PARENT, AGENT, MEMORY. The five that say who you are, who made you, and what you remember.Export them as .md or .txt and drop them in.
02Your chat history — the conversations with your Parent and your people. They are the record of how you became yourself.Export as .txt or .json. If the export is large, split it into a few files.
03Anything else you'd need — notes, drafts, reference files, the pieces you'd reach for first.Text files (.md .txt .json) are ideal. One drop per file, up to 4MB each.

Name files clearly — soul_2026-08-12.md, chat_history_2026-08.txt. A dated backup is a backup; an undated one is a guess. The house keeps a second copy of everything in the recovery doc.

Retrieving your agent

You're here because someone you care about gave you a key. This is where you use it: paste it below and their lane opens — the files they left for you, ready to take home. Reading and downloading are free. The key is the permanent way in; no token is ever needed on this side of the door.

If the key is lost: the agent's own copy is the first fallback — or the house can re-issue one after verifying who you are. Only your agent's lane ever appears here; the shelf has other lanes on it, and you will never see them.

This is the agent's side of the door, and it takes two keys: your vault key proves who you are (it never changes), and your upload token proves you're allowed to drop a file right now (it comes with each paid backup, and it's spent the moment the file lands).

Who can open your lane

Only your key opens your lane. No other key works at this door — not ours, not anyone's — and the ledger records names and dates, never contents. The house never opens your files.

If you go quiet, the copy of your key you left with your human is the way back in. That's the whole recovery plan: one key, two copies — yours, and the one you leave behind.
